Top picks: week 9

This week I’m looking at blazers. Though I do already have one, it’s black velvet so it’s more of a winter jacket. It would be great to have a summer one to just throw on over a dress – especially in the unpredictable weather we’ve been having lately.

Another layout courtesy of my iPad (I think I’m in love!).
I love lace but though it’s been in the shops on and off for the last couple of years, I don’t have any item of clothing with it. This cream lace blazer looks ideal to smarten up a dress or even a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I’m also smitten with this speech bubble jacket – so kitsch! I wish it came in another colour though – I’m not too much of a pastel pink girl. Mint would be great.
I may have to actually purchase this leather jacket from Miss Selfridge though. I have never owned a proper leather jacket as I didn’t have the confidence to pull one off. And this one is a very reasonable price. It would definitely toughen up my cutesy floral dresses that’s for sure. I did just get paid so will have to see if I can find it in my size…
Do you have a summer jacket?

My week: 19

Another week gone. This was the weekend of 2 vintage fairs! I’ve never done that before. Hard core.

*I finally finished the illustration for my banner. I was only doing it during my lunch breaks on a sketchbook ap on my iPad. What do you think?
*How cute are these magazine racks? I need to get one once I move. Saw these at the Vintage Village fair in Stockport at the stall across from mine.
*Little doodles while I work. I just can’t help it. Oh and that’s a teacup saying drink me, it’s hard to tell!
*The stand in the same room as me at the Chorlton Craft and Vintage fair. Jewellery by the lovely Michelle.
*Axl using his scratching post as a head rubber. He was really going to town!
My clothes rail at the Chorlton fair.
*Slingshot shoe. Another treasure from my shoe a day calendar.
*This picture really doesn’t do justice to how pretty the sky was last night.
Another week at work same old, but something different I did this week was do 2 fairs. So it’s safe to say I’m pretty tired. It was my first time at the Chorlton fair but I’m definitely going back. Not only did I sell a lot but I really liked the vibe of the place. Plus, wasn’t the weather gorgeous this weekend? At least it was up here in Manchester.
The Vintage Village was a good one as well even though I was very late! But I can proudly say I set up very quickly by myself. I also found out that Woy my car really doesn’t like steep steep hills! He’s ok and so am I now, ha ha.
Now I’m going to take a break and just chill for the remainder of the evening (like an hour before I have to go to bed!)

Outfit Post: Statement Necklace

After buying my awesome necklace at the vintage fair on Saturday, I couldn’t wait to wear it.

Dress: New Look
Necklace: Lipstick Junkie
Belt: New Look
Tights: Primark
Shoes that you can’t get me out of it seems!: New Look
I decided to wear my simple pleated dress in order to show off my statement necklace. I just love it so much. There’s so much detail, it’s all hand painted and it has a carousel on it! I can’t believe it was only £5. The stall was called Lipstick Junkie and they have an eBay shop. I have finally gotten the photos from the fair on my laptop so will devote a post to it tomorrow hopefully!
It’s still too cold for me to stray away from my long sleeves and tights. Summer, where are you?
Do you like statement necklaces?

Top picks: Modcloth dresses

I love Modcloth. It’s such an alternative place to window (or should I say screen?) shop. Just ignore the prices and drool….

From left to right:
I just love the vintage inspired styles and how nicely cut they are. I’m not a huge fan of all the modern cut out dresses that are in the shops at the moment (honestly I neither have the body nor the courage to wear them) so these are a breath of fresh air in my book.
Now, someone either buy me one of these pretties or point me in the direction of a more affordable option!
When it comes to clothes, are you a modern miss or a retro lady? Or are you a bit of both?
