The vintage bag

I would like to introduce you to my vintage bag. I originally bought this for my vintage shop, not being love at first sight for me, but I thought my customers would like it.

It was only when going on holiday to Portugal, I realised I didn’t have a day bag to carry round with me. With nothing being the right size in my personal bag collection, I turned to my vintage collection. I hadn’t even put this bag on my website so I didn’t see any harm in using it for the holiday.

A snapshot of me and the bag and my mum. Oh yeah, that’s me with a head. Helllloooooo.

I don’t know when it was during that holiday but I fell in love with this bag! It is the perfect size for just a day bag but fits all my reading material in it (small monthly magazines AND my massive book) as well. I get bored quite easily when travelling so this is essential to me.

I’m so sad but I love bags with different compartments. Makes me feel more organised ha ha.

So this bag is now mine. Sorry Toast Rack.

Oh yeah, and the icing on the cake? I got this for 50p at a car boot sale!

What to do with £30?

So I got £30 from my grandma for Christmas. Whenever I get money as a present, I never spend it on specific things. I just use it as my own money. For once, I would like to use some gift money on something specific for myself that I can say, I got that from my grandma.

So what to do with £30? A few ideas I came up with:

A Topshop bag, £30

DVD’s I’ve been after for awhile from Amazon, add up to £30 including shipping.

A bangle that I featured on my Random Quirks blog here and some more nail varnish (I may be addicted!)

              nerd

Or I could nerd out and get these. A hogwarts letter necklace and a hufflepuff prefect badge from etsy.

bangle

I am a Hufflepuff (and proud) and was annoyed that they only sold Gryffindor and Slytherin Prefect badges at the WWOHP. I was a prefect at school so I really wanted one of these.

I’m not sure what to pick. It’s either one of these options, or I just see what I like the look of when I go shopping with my mum on saturday. What do you think?

My week 4

So this was an interesting week, more so towards the end. Check it out.

IMG_0516

Axl gets tired surfing the web all day.

IMG_0537

A 1930s pump on my 365 days of shoes desk calendar. Love this (thank you to my lovely bf for getting it for me).

IMG_0538

Axl being Axl. He’s weird. Nuff said.

IMG_0541

Went to the red hot world buffet on deansgate on friday night with the friend and bf. Was nomtastic. Just check out my desserts! Love the waffle on a stick.

IMG_0542

Yes, I am going out with what appears to be a child. The bf’s selections. All the delicious things and he went mental about the bubblegum ice cream. Didn’t believe me when I said there are loads of other places he could get it, lol.

IMG_0543

Finally saw the new Sherlock Holmes film. Made me lol. I recommend it.

IMG_0545

Saturday night spent making jewellery for my fair that was today. Like the charms?

Part of my stall at the fair. Was a good day though extremely cold!

Back to work tomorrow 🙁

How was your week?

Cats are funny things

This is Axl.
He is one of my housemates’ cats (his sister is called Rose who I have introduced before – they are guns and roses fans, lol). He is a rather odd fellow who likes bags, the smell of shampoo, stretching into the weirdest positions and purring extremely loud.

IMG_0523

He has no shame.

Apologies for the messy floor. My internet only works well on the floor so this is where my laptop lives. Axl decided to wander into my room after I’d had a shower and went mental sniffing the towel that I’d dried my hair with. This is how he ended up. Legs a kimbo and front paws up making him pose like a rabbit. An odd fellow indeed…

Food is my drug PART 2

Continuing on from Part 1, here is what the bf and I ate and drank on day 2 of our adventure to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. First stop, the Caribbean!

DSC06272 - Version 2

Ropa Vieja (slowly braised beef) and white rice

Was alrighty.

Mexico

DSC06274

Grilled Ribeye Taco

I enjoyed but was not so keen on the spicy kick as I am a wimp.

Scandinavia

DSC06281

Taste of Scandinavia – Shrimp salad, cured salmon and herring

Another dish we may have scarfed down a bit before remembering to take a photo. Which is why the herring is nowhere to be seen…

China

DSC06285

Pot Stickers and Caramel and Ginger Ice cream

As I cannot eat the creatures that go oink, the bf sampled the pot stickers which meant the ice cream was all mine! It was amazing! There were actual bits of ginger in it. Good thing the China pavilion at Epcot seems to always sell this as I will be going back for more in the future.

South Korea

DSC06307

Boolgogi BBQ beef with steamed rice and kimchi

I have to say that this was my least favourite food out of everything we tasted. The beef and rice was good, but the kimchi (cabbage) let it down for me. I’m not a cabbage fan generally but the sauce wasn’t to my taste.

South Africa

DSC06309 - Version 2

Seared filet of beef with smashed sweet potatoes and braai sauce

This beef was so incredibly cooked it was amazing! The sauce and sweet potatoes was really interesting too.

Germany

DSC06311 - Version 2

Nuernberger sausage in a pretzel roll and goulash soup

To my joy, the goulash was beef only so I had that while the bf had the sausage. What is it with boys and these? I enjoyed the goulash anyway 🙂

Italy

DSC06315 - Version 2

Cannoli al Cioccolato

Biscuit, chocolate and sweet ricotta cheese, that’s all you need to know. These bad boys were so incredible, we went back two more times to get more. I am craving one so bad right now!

Poland

DSC06317

Kielbasa and Potato Pierogie with caramelised onions and sour cream

Another pig fest but the potato thing was nom.

South Korea again

Raspberry Wine

My faith in South Korean cuisine was restored with this little glass of wine. I have never tasted any wine that is as nice. Even the bf who isn’t really a fan of wine kept stealing it off me. You could clearly taste the raspberry. Delicious!

That’s all we had on day two, but stay tuned for the final short and sweet Part 3.
