My Week #59 – Car boots and de-cluttering

*Car boot noms *New light fixture in the living room

*New sparkly shoes *Pickles being cuddly AF

The rain held off long enough for Emma and I to do a car boot in peace.

Phew! More stuff gone. I might even do another one this weekend if the weather holds out. Though looking out the window right now that may not happen! I’m really getting on it now with the house. I got so sick of all the rubbish in the run up to the wedding and now I have the free time to finally do something about it. Just wait, soon everything will have a place.

I lost half a pound at Slimming World

With the mountain of crap I ate this week I was shocked that I still lost weight. But the ladies there have a theory that I’m shedding the stress weight I put on just before the wedding. Fingers crossed I keep going the right way because I’m in danger of not fitting into a couple of things I bought ages ago for the honeymoon.

Speaking of the honeymoon…

Everything is now booked and currency is sorted. Plus I found out that The Color Factory existed through Instagram and immediately signed up to their mailing list to await ticket sales for September. How amazing does it look?! It only opened this month in San Francisco and so I thought it would be a cool idea to go while we’re there. Only a few days later they went on sale and I pounced. I got tickets for Topher and I and I am beyond excited.

I also got some new sparkly trainers which I can’t wait to wear over there. I immediately changed the shoe laces to regular ones (thanks eBay!) as I wasn’t a fan of the wide ribbon ones they came with. I’m already packing my suitcase in my head. Is it too early to start packing? It’s just under a month away…

In other news of capitalism I think I may have jumped on the pin collecting train

All in my head of course – it ain’t quite payday yet! So for those who follow me on Pinterest, I profusely apologies for the pin spam over the last 24 hours. I would say I won’t do it again but I’m lying. #sorrynotsorry It all started with this pin right here:

How was your week?

On a side note – I’m looking for guest posters for while I’m away next month so if you fancy writing on here, get in touch.¬†

The de-cluttering continues.

So I posted last week about my office that was overflowing with rubbish here. Well I’m happy to say that I am currently sitting in the same office now and have been doing so for almost a week now. I pretty much entered the room at the beginning of the day, de-cluttering away and by the end it was done.

It’s not perfect but it doesn’t need to be since we will be moving soon anyway. I just needed a clear space to sit and work at my laptop. As much fun as working from the sofa and my bed is, that novelty wears off quickly. That and my fianc√© keeps asking me what’s wrong when I sit downstairs. Damn my resting bitch face.

Plus there’s something awesome about being able to say you have your own home office. I love it. Definitely beats my old office!

de-cluttering - desk view

As you can see now, the floor is clear, my old desk has swivelled round so its next to my new desk to make one uber desk (gotta love an uber desk), the plastic drawers now have a home and sitting next to it is my get rid of/sell box. Yay!

de-cluttering - workspace

Also, in terms of the dresser in the dining room, I’m also happy to say that it has been de-cluttered though I currently have no photos to prove this yet. So believe me it’s been done! I seriously can’t wait until summer when there will be more daylight hours. And by daylight hours I mean more than the minimal sunshine between 9 and 12 then just horrible grey until it gets dark about 5pm. Yuck.

And finally the spare room looks the same. Suitcase mountain still rules over the room. Well, Rome wasn’t built in a day was it? One day I’ll get there!

Are you de-cluttering at the moment? Any joy yet?
