I seriously need this t-shirt. Do you remember the days when you were sitting in your room sulking because you were too young to do something? Seriously I need my own car, I need my own house, even I need my own room if you were unlucky enough to have a sibling of the same gender. I just wish I was a grown up. So young, so naive.
When I was a teen I couldn’t wait to grow up and yes being a grown up is pretty cool sometimes. But other times it sucks. Having to do adult things like schedule appointments, pay bills and take care of other people is just bleh. Great vocabulary right? Like just now I’ve had to interrupt my writing this post to call the pharmacy (again) to check they’ve received Topher’s prescription. There’s a whole saga behind it every month where we have to fight for it. Fun times.
And don’t get me started on housework. Having to do it every day/week/month/when your parent’s come round is not fun. Though I do find something satisfying about doing dishes. How does the house get so messy? Topher and I are apparently just tornadoes that mess everything up the second we clean. I will get that right one day.
Once again, I don’t really have a point to this post. Just that I have a cold (thanks Topher’s work colleague!) and I have to go wash the dishes now. Being an adult sucks kids, don’t do it. But at the same time, do it. You can have cake for breakfast and no one will tell you off.
So in one short week I will be in Disney World where I can once again be a child. While simultaneously being an adult herding six other people round. I can’t wait! I think the best thing in life is to get all the adult stuff done while still retaining the silliness and ridiculousness of being a child. Go on, skip down the street. I dare you!
What’s the best and worst thing about being an adult for you?
