Lunch at Revolucion de Cuba

*This post is in collaboration with Revolucion de Cuba – Lunch was complimentary in exchange for a review, however opinions are my own as always.

On a sunny Friday lunchtime, Topher and I headed to Revolucion de Cuba for a spot of tapas.

We each got a cocktail, Topher had the Jumble Punch and I had the Solero. The Solero unsurprisingly tasted just like its namesake ice cream and it was delicious. I would definitely go back just for another one of these.

Topher enjoyed his Rumble Punch and commented that it had a nice kick to it. I had a sneaky taste and it is definitely something I would order. I loved the hint of cinnamon.

The tapas dishes weren’t really Diane friendly with two out of the four dishes featuring pork but luckily Topher was on hand to taste test. Starting with the pork and chorizo quesadilla, he enjoyed but found a winning combination by adding Revolucion de Cuba’s own spicy rum sauce to it. The beef & pork meatballs he commented were perfect as is since they came with a rich tomato sauce. Delicious.

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from the cauliflower wings as I’m not really a fan of the vegetable but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself scoffing the whole dish. Battered cauliflower is apparently delicious to my taste buds, especially when paired with the creamy goats cheese & honey sauce & smoky tomato salsa they came with.

The Patatas Bravas was basically fried potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce, which was the perfect accompaniment to the rest of our meal. We shared this dish and I would happily order it again.

Now for my favourite bit, the Chicken Thigh Chargrilled Skewers. The meat was so tender and so delicious I am still dreaming about it two weeks later. And though I was really getting full at this point, I managed to have a few of the sweet potato wedges that accompanied it.

Overall we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be paying another visit in the future! Check out their website for the other tapas and main meals they offer.
