Getting back to normal is hard

I feel like I’m in some weird limbo where I’m tired all the time. But I’m slowly getting back into it. So glad we didn’t go off on our honeymoon right away – I think we would have just slept the whole time. And this is a jam packed holiday so I think it definitely wouldn’t have had the same impact.

Honeymoon planning is in full swing

I have numerous spreadsheets on the go and I don’t even care if that sounds a little bit overkill. This is my first adult holiday that is not Florida and I have to admit that I’m a little bit nervous. Particularly about driving in LA. And getting around in San Francisco. New York I’m cool as a cucumber but I think that’s down to it being a lot more familiar territory (I’ve been twice – once with family and once with uni). Planning is definitely reducing my anxiety though. We all have our things right?

Word of warning to those newlyweds who are both changing their name:

It’s a pain. And I haven’t even started changing our names on bills yet. But I know it will be worth it when it’s all done. We’ve done the bank and I’ve sent off for my new (and second of the year) passport. It is pretty satisfying getting things ticked off the list. Next week is definitely tackling all the bills.

I tried takoyaki

We got restaurant vouchers as a wedding present from Topher’s work so we decided to go to Yo Sushi. The menu has really expanded. They now had street food which included takoyaki. Since it’s on my 101 in 1001 list I had to try it. I have to say I was kind of underwhelmed. But of course I’m not going to write it off. I’ll just have to try the real thing when we go to Japan one day.

Since Topher is now off from school, we decided to go make use of our Cineworld Unlimited cards this week. You generally have to go see at least two films a month to make them worth it and with the wedding taking up so much time we hadn’t seen any this month.

So that had to be rectified. We decided to be ambitious and tick another 101 in 1001 off the list – see three films in one day. We saw Despicable Me 3, Dunkirk and Baby Driver. I really enjoyed all three for different reasons. I definitely recommend them.

How was your week?
